Visakhapatnam: Vishwa Samudra Group, a multinational business conglomerate specialising in innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions, has announced the commencement of “The Samudra Artists’ Camp” here in association with SEHER, one of the most highly reputed organisations known for promoting Indian performing and visual arts.

The visual arts’ camp is aimed at celebrating the 25th edition of the ICID International Congress on irrigation and drainage advocating the significance of water conservation and sustainability. The event is organised by The International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID), a leading scientific, technical, international, not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation.

The one-of-a-kind week-long event has brought together 20 reno wned artists from across India, including five exceptional local artists from the City of Destiny. These carefully selected artists will collaborate to create an impressive exhibition and body of work centered around the theme of water; specific to the coast of Vizag from which they will derive inspiration.

Their goal is to document their unique perspectives on water bodies in the region, promoting water sustainability and tourism. The aim is to spotlight the camp’s theme and the beauty of Vizag, weaving together the rich artistic and cultural traditions of the region, for the benefit of tourists, the local population, and the diplomatic community.

The artworks created during this camp will be displayed in an exhibition at the 25th ICID International Congress and 74th IEC Meeting scheduled on November 3 in the city.

The exhibition will be attended by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, and senior members of ICID–national and international, along with government officials.

Elaborating on the initiative, Karan Medappa, president, marketing & communications, Vishwa Samudra Group said, “With rapid economic growth and a growing population, the need for water conservation is more critical than ever.”
